About SiS Reflections: Transcendent Beauty exists in the world. One of the ways by which we can grasp and wear beauty is through clothing & accessories. Join me for reflections through a favorite outfit.

C.S. Lewis wrote in The Weight of Glory that, “we do not want merely to see beauty…we want something else which can hardly be put into words—to be united with the beauty we see, to pass into it, to receive it into ourselves, to bathe in it, to become part of it.” Lewis was not contented with a Platonic ideal of beauty that existed in the world of forms; rather he yearned to be united with beauty and not merely contemplate it.
While we can experience beauty by reading great literature, hearing great music and enjoying grand artistic landscapes, we can also enter and even inhabit beauty through clothing and accessories. That is the power of fashion. We are able to put on beauty and transform ourselves into beautiful beings, and that is just what I do through my style.
For this particular outfit, I wanted to go beyond the norm and truly wear a dress that was elevated and fashion-forward. This dress by Zara has a V-neckline and organza short sleeves which layer nicely to form a flower shape. The color yellow is as vibrant as one could get, reminiscent of the sun and all its glory. I chose this dress because it feels like I am wearing a flower, I feel like I am a flower amongst the flowers! It makes me feel like I am blooming, evolving, being my best self.
“Praise the Lord, my soul. Lord my God, you are very great; you are clothed with splendor and majesty.” – Psalm 104:1
